September 14th
- Shanna & Adam Angel. Medical Considerations Before Taking Psychedelics and All Your Ketamine Questions Answered.
- Jamie Truppi, a functional nutritionist (MS, CNS) who prefers to be known as a "nature nutritionist", will be speaking on the topic of "food consciousness", bringing different perspectives to the concepts of "food as medicine" and "plant therapy." She'll also describe how our relationship with psychedelics can act as a catalyst for reconsidering our relationships with what we consume and how we nourish ourselves. Further, certain foods and ways of eating can promote (or inhibit) well-being in tandem with psychedelics on both a micro and macro level. If you'd like, read her recent Mtn Express column, titled "Rethinking Food as Medicine" via her blog HERE.
- Daniel Abrahamson, Annual State of the Psychedelic Union.. Dan is an attorney who works at the intersection of public health, criminal law, and human rights. In 1996, he founded the Office of Legal Affairs of the Drug Policy Alliance, the leading organization devoted to drug policy reform in the U.S., and served as DPA’s Director of Legal Affairs for two decades. Abrahamson also has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Virginia, University of California Berkeley, and Hastings College of Law. Abrahamson has helped craft and implement laws and regulations designed to end marijuana prohibition, decriminalize drugs, reduce mass criminalization, promote harm reduction interventions and medication-assisted treatments, and expand access to therapeutic psychedelics, including working to establish the first regulatory scheme to provide widespread access to psilocybin therapy (Oregon’s Measure 109). Abrahamson also has helped litigate cases expanding civil rights, reproductive freedom, and criminal law reform in state and federal courts around the U.S., including the U.S. Supreme Court.

- Is Santa Claus a shaman who gives out psychedelic mushrooms as gifts? Are flying reindeer eating Amanita and "flying" in a whole different way? What can you eat that will decrease your risk of Alzheimers and dementia by 50%? What will actually make you smarter? What can break down toxins in our environment (including plastic)? Come meet mycophile and plant chef, Mushroom Michelle and learn about all that Lion's Mane, Chaga, Turkey Tail, Cordyceps and our other powerhouse medicinal mushrooms can do to fortify your form. The former professor will follow the evening's presentation with a potluck offering showcasing all your holiday favorites.

- Kara Fort: Overcoming Pain and Trauma with Ketamine. Join us as we dive into the transformative journey of Kara Fort, a non-profit leader and business owner from Southern Idaho. Kara will candidly share how ketamine played a crucial role in alleviating her chronic pain, severe depression, and complex trauma symptoms. Before discovering ketamine, Kara was contemplating a peripheral nerve stimulator implant to relieve chronic migraine pain. In this engaging conversation, Kara will walk us through the events that led her to explore ketamine, her experiences during treatments, the efforts she put in outside of the sessions, and how this singular medication brought about profound changes in her life—changes that conventional medicine and therapy over 25 years had not achieved. Don't miss out on this inspiring narrative of hope, trust, love, and peace as Kara recounts her redemptive journey home to herself.
- Rick Ballesteros. Rick Ballesteros will return from Austin, where he is recording the soundtrack for his upcoming film. He will share his journey with psilocybin, his indigenous heritage, ceremony, ritual, and therapy. He will also lead a 15-minute inner-child meditation/reflection. Please bring a photo of yourself as a child. There will, of course, be lots of discussion!
- The final gathering of the season will be a playful experience to build community, connection, and wonder! More details to follow…
