Set refers to "Mindset" This can be an intention for your session, or it can refer to your mood at the time. Creating the space and time for your process will provide the best outcomes that last the longest. Your treatment provider needs to have a clear mindset as well, and "hold space" for you to have your experience. In this way you can orient yourself in the direction you want to go after treatment.

Setting refers to the physical space that you are in for treatment. It includes the person providing treatment and the space that they hold for you. You need to find a treatment provider that you truly trust. If you don't trust them, leave and find another provider. Even the person dropping you off for your appointment is part of the setting you experience. Setting also includes what you do during the session. There is huge variation between clinics. Make sure this is part of the discussion with whoever you choose to administer your treatment!
